Four statements everything else grew from

Value is not code.

Most IT teams think in commits and tasks. That is inventory, not outcome. Until a product is used, the work is not done.

Complexity signals weak thinking.

If explaining the model takes three slides, the model is not assembled. If a project needs ten roles, the system is broken.

Small teams beat large ones.

Three to seven people with engineering thinking can deliver what burns out teams of fifty. Less coordination, more delivery.

Recurring or nothing.

No one-off deals. Every project must either create recurring flow or become the foundation for a product that does.

02 · How I work

I do not manage. I rebuild.

My role is to enter a project, see the contradiction, assemble a new norm of work, and leave. I am not an operator. I am not a manager. I am a builder.

The cycle is predictable: three to six months of deep involvement, then lower involvement. If the system cannot work without me after six months, I replaced myself with myself instead of building it.

The valuable final product is a team that can continue the idea after I am gone.

04 · Family

Five children, a stand-up comedian wife, an interracial marriage.

Family is not a separate brand. It is the context where everything else gets tested.

My wife Jacklin is a stand-up comedian, Black, the mother of our children, and the person beside whom my “I think” gets tested against “what is actually happening.”

Five children means five different people, each requiring a separate relationship. That is my growth area, not my achievement badge.
